(Hard to translate.) Two sisters, laughter and smile, despite their differences are sisters nonetheless: one doesn't say what it does, the other doesn't do what it says. (This greguería is a play on words, 'risa', meaning 'laughter', and 'sonrisa', meaning 'smile'; the difference between the words, the letters 'son', can be taken to mean 'sound', though the more usual word would be 'sonido'; so laughter, 'risa', is spelled without sound, 'son', and yet it makes sound; smile, 'sonrisa', is spelled with sound, 'son', and yet it makes none.)
